ZOYA VIAZOVSKAYA

Zoya was born in Moscow in 1990. She began her music career at an early age, starting with piano and then graduating from different music schools as a harpist, a violinist and a flautist.
She then entered Academic Music College of Moscow State Conservatoire as a theory and history of music specialist, then adding flute as a second study (with professor Nikolay Lotakov) . In 2008 she entered Moscow State Conservatoire as a flautist and next year she was awarded an ABRSM full scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music (London) with William Bennett (flute) and Colin Stone (piano).
Her international career started with a Second Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Flute competition, and then she continued to appear as a soloist in the most well-known flute festivals and events including British Flute Society convention, Flute festival in Slovenia, etc.
During her studies she got a chance to work with such maestros as Martin Brabbins, Heinz Holliger, Jane Glover, Edward Gardner, Daniel Barenboim, Simon Gaudens, Alissa Firsova, Francesco Pasqualetti and others.
As a soloist, she performed with many orchestras in several countries including Denmark (Odense Symphony Orchestra), United Kingdom (Royal Academy of Music concert orchestra, Meladina ensemble, и др.), Russia (MCO "The seasons", MSC concert orchestra etc)
She also got several awards including 3rd prize at the British Flute Society Flute competition (2011), Special Prize for contemporary composition at the Carl Nielsen International Flute competition (2010), Macklin Award (2013), as well as Alexander Nevsky prize (2011) and 1st prize at the First International Flute Competition named after Vladimir Tzybin (2007). .Zoya's concert recordings are being broadcast on radio stations and music channels of Denmark, United Kingdom, Russia, Slovenia, France, Belgium and United States.
She was in a position of a teaching assistant and pianist in William Bennett International Flute Summer school (2012, 2014).
She is currently working as a flute and chamber ensemble teacher at two leading music schools of Moscow including Gnessin Special School of Music and Moscow Conservatoire College.
She is the general organiser of the annual flute festival "Great Flute Days" and the International Internet Competition "My Favourite Flute" having invited such guests as Trevor Wye, Matthias Ziegler, Susan Milan, Raffaele Trevisani and many others.
